Most of Marvel movies are actually pretty predictable

Marvel movies. Thor, Spiderman, Iron Man, Hulk… just to mention few. We all know them. And all your friends are very excited when there is a new Marvel movie out in cinema. Did you ever noticed, you probably actually tricked yourself to like them?

Action is just a nice packaging

Okay, it would be very inaccurate to portray all Marvel movies as only action based, but let’s be honest, most of them simply are. And I got it. There are times when your brain is tired as hell and you just want to watch something simple and colorful that moves on the screen and “looks good” at the same time. But lets say we would actually expect from Marvel movies to have more profound meaning, storyline and the message behind it.

Lets take Fantastic Four as an example. Story really consisted from following parts:

• How movie superheroes or supervillains got their superpowers
• Villain decides to harm innocent civilians or want to kill superheroes.
• Confrontation of superheroes and supervillains. And offcourse, Superheroes will win.
• The end.

Looks familiar? Yes… the same pattern is used over and over and over. Just notice this storyline pattern when watching Mr. Strange, Iron man, Hulk, Thor, Spiderman, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Captain America… and I could continue. And all that amazing visual stuff you see on the screen is just a mask, pretending to be something more. What you really get is different packaging of the same package…

But some of them are your favourite movies…

And some of them were my favourites as well. But then I looked back… what was the thing I loved so much on Mr. Strange? And to be honest, it was an atmosphere that movie makers created, but thats pretty much it.

Ask yourself, can be any of Marvel movies compared with Joker or Dark Knight? I doubt it. Not even close.

Movie makers are not even trying

You know the deal. Whenever anyone starts to make something new, mistakes will be coming along the way. And that is human and something expected. But thing is, that movie makers already have a long experience of producing these type of movies.

It seems like movie makers just don’t want to make any mistake by making something different, something better. Maybe the real reason for making those movies is just to make money… And that, sadly as it sounds, leaves most of Marvel movies only good as an average fun for the this summer.. As they advertise in the movie trailers.
